Family movie reviews – Australian school holidays 2020

We’ve just had a sneak-peek of two must-see family movies coming out these summer school holidays that your kids are going to love!

Welcome to our Summer 2020 family movie review! This summer so far we’ve attended two really fun Sydney Movie Premieres and got to see a couple of fantastic new family movies.

It’s wonderful to see things getting more back-to-normal towards the end of the year. Whilst social distancing is still in place of course, it’s absolutely possible to have a great time at the movies together.

It’s time to reward your family for all the deprivations and isolations of 2020 – get out there and have some fun at your local cinema these summer holidays!

Roalds Dahl’s The Witches

For older kids and teens, you’re not going to want to miss The Witches.

We all loved this reimagining of the Roald Dahl classic. It was totally spellbinding (did you see what I did there?), with the two lead actors – Octavia Spencer and Anne Hathaway – giving brilliant performances.

Be warned though – although it features some absolutely adorable mice, the actual witches can be very scary at times, so it may be wise to not see it with any younger children.

The Witches is in cinemas December 10 2020.

Held at the Sydney Entertainment Quarter, see as we’re greeted by a Witch, navigate the media photo wall and enjoy all kinds of mysterious, magical treats!

The Croods 2 – A New Age

For kids of all ages, be sure not to miss The Croods 2 – A New Age.

We all just loved seeing the Sydney Premiere of Universal Picture’s The Croods – A New Age.

This super-fun new family movie will have you brushing off the year’s worries with howls of laughter!

All the main characters we know and love have returned, with some hilarious new ones to add to the story.

Guaranteed to keep the kids glued to their seats, this is a sure-fire school holidays winner.

The Croods 2 is coming soon to cinemas this summer 2020.
